Portrait Anina Westermann Ashtanga KreuzbergAnina Westermann discovered Ashtanga Yoga on a trip to Goa in 2006. In the years to follow she travelled to India many times to practice with Gabriella Pascoli, Rolf and Marci Naujokat and Regina Ehlers in Goa and with Monica Marinoni in Auroville.
She visited Mysore twice, where she studied with BNS Iyengar and Saraswati Jois.

In 2011 Anina participated in Andrea Lutz’ Ashtanga Intensive in her home town Berlin and started attending workshops with Manju Jois and Nancy Gilgoff regularly. She was assisting in Andrea’s classes before she started teaching on her own in 2012. Anina has completed 3 teacher trainings for primary and intermediate series with Manju Jois and an Adjustment Clinic for primary series with Nancy Gilgoff.
She has taught workshops in St. Tropez and Tenerife and began teaching evening Mysore classes at The Heads Berlin in May 2015.

As a social worker Anina has been working with people, who struggle with addiction and mental health problems for 20 years. She has been using Ashtanga Yoga as part of her work since she started teaching Yoga and installed the „Back To Life“ program at VistaBerlin in February 2015 (http://www.vista-berlin.org/index.php?id=594).

In winter Anina can still be found in Goa, where she enjoys practicing for a few weeks under the guidance of her friend and teacher Regina Ehlers.
